Arriving in Sydney

If you’re travelling from outside of Sydney, it’s a good idea to aim to arrive at least two weeks before semester starts, so that you have more time to settle in before classes begin. It’s a good idea to research your transportation options before leaving your hometown, and to write down the address you’ll be visiting. Once you have arrived safely do not forget to contact your family and friends to let them know you have arrived.

Transport in Sydney

Trains, buses, light rail (trams), and ferries are among Sydney’s public transportation options. To use the public transportation system, you must have an adult Opal card. Metered taxis and ride-sharing services are also available in Sydney (such as Uber).

Accommodation

In Sydney, you can choose from a variety of housing options. Wherever you choose to live, keep in mind that most places fill up before the start of the academic year, so you should start looking into your options as soon as possible and ask for help if you need it.

Orientation

Taking your first steps as a new student can be both intimidating and exciting. It’s a new environment, a new way of learning, and you’ll have many questions. During Orientation and Welcome Week, you will find your answers and begin your transition into student life. Support services, and information sessions are all part of our orientation programmes. They are held during breaks and at the beginning of each semester to welcome you and introduce you to various aspects of College life.
