Health, Wellbeing and Student Support

Maintaining your health and wellbeing is an important part of achieving success in your studies. Ransford College is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment and offers a range of support services to assist students throughout their learning journey.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

If you require support for your mental health or wellbeing, Ransford College can provide information about available support services and, where appropriate, refer you to external professional support providers.

Students may also access free mental health information and support through the NSW Department of Education:

Student Wellbeing – Counselling and Psychology Services

If you require immediate assistance in an emergency, contact 000. Students experiencing a mental health crisis should also seek immediate assistance from an appropriate emergency or crisis support service.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a mandatory requirement for international students studying in Australia on a student visa. You must maintain valid OSHC for the duration of your student visa as required by the Australian Government.

Students may arrange OSHC through Ransford College’s preferred provider or directly with any Australian Government-approved OSHC provider.

Diversity and Inclusion

Ransford College is committed to providing an inclusive, safe and respectful learning environment where all students are treated with dignity, fairness and respect. We value diversity and support students from all cultural backgrounds, religions, genders, sexual orientations and gender identities, including students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+).

Disability and Reasonable Adjustment

Ransford College is committed to supporting students with disability and complies with its obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and the Disability Standards for Education 2005.

Students who have a disability, medical condition or other learning support need are encouraged to discuss their requirements with the College as early as possible. Where appropriate and reasonable, Ransford College will work with the student to implement reasonable adjustments that enable equitable participation in training and assessment while maintaining the integrity of the qualification and the requirements of the relevant training package or accredited course.
